Your cast iron nourishes you, so nourish it back!
Lard is a simple, heirloom way to season and maintain your cast iron kitchen implements. This beautiful balm is made from our pasture raised lard, and a small amount of beeswax and almond oil for the perfect sealing consistency.
For maintenance: Rub a thin layer onto clean cast iron and wipe away with a paper towel.
For seasoning: Follow the same steps as maintenance, then place pan upside down (to prevent oil pooling) in a 450-500 degree oven for two hours. Wipe away soot with a paper towel after pan cools. Repeat if desired until non-stick texture is reached. It is suggested to place a baking sheet under your cast iron in the oven to catch any drips.
Ingredients: Lard, beeswax, almond oil
2 oz.
